Our 5/16" (7.9 mm) Lip Frame, crafted from roll-formed aluminum, is designed for inset mounting within framed openings. The spline pocket aligns with the spline groove on the same side, and the frame has a thickness of 3/8" (10 mm). In addition, we offer a 3/4" x 7/16" (19 x 11 mm) box-type lip frame with a 1/2" (12.7 mm) lip on the facing side. This variant is constructed from .025 mil (.63 mm) thick roll-formed aluminum.
The lip frame features a slight bow or camber, ensuring screen tension is maintained during the installation of your chosen screen mesh or wire. Its design enables the lip to rest against the window frame, creating a smooth and secure seal even against the smallest insects. For lip window screens installed from the inside, the "reversed" lip window screen is required.
